Since retiring from a career in education, I have been studying watermedia painting with C.C.Woolf at the EastSide Art Center in Providence, and with Claudia Venditto at the Blue Door Studio in Smithfield. I am a member of the Rhode Island Watercolor Society, the Attleboro Arts Museum, and the East Greenwich Art Club, and have exhibited my work with those groups, as well as exhibiting at the Arnold Mills Community House in Cumberland. I participated in the Wickford Art Association Show, PUSH PULL PRINT from September 2-25, 2022.
As part of my artistic development, I have been experimenting with different types of water media, and a variety of papers and surfaces. In addition, she has been working in collage, and printing monotypes using a Gelliplate. The subjects of my paintings range from portraits, landscapes, to non-representational pieces. By far, my favorite subject is portraiture – realistic and non-realistic. Capturing emotion, interpreting nature and transforming realism continue to be the driving forces in my journey as an artist.
