Trish

Since my retirement as a pediatric nurse/teacher I have had the wonderful opportunity to study with several prominent artists and explore both watercolor and oil painting. Choosing my medium depends upon the subject, my mood and the feeling I wish to create. I usually begin with a rough sketch on location and later spend endless hours in my studio composing my work. My watercolors are often created with detailed accurate drawings and others by pouring paints on museum board or yupo paper, then discovering a subject through the abstract shapes. As an incurable romantic, my palette reflects nature's gentleness and fury in soft hues and muted, sensual colors.

I have fallen hopelessly in love with painting, nature and the sea. My summers are spent sailing the east coast so I am always close to the sights and sounds of the sea, as well as the ever changing weather conditions. I am especially captivated by fog, storms and crashing waves that form abstract impressions in the foam.

It is often said that artistic expression, in all its forms, is the dance of creation. I hope to share my dance of creative exploration by capturing, through my senses, the mood and mystery of nature and the sea.

I am an Artist Member of the East Greenwich Art Club, the Wickford Art Association and a Signature Member of the R.I. Watercolor Society. I have exhibited my work in local, regional and national shows.
